Pregnant Dog
A pregnant dog is not unusual to be rescued off the street and brought to the rescue station. The animals on the street are reduced to their most basic instincts of survival and reproduction. It is not common for rescue stations to be well-equipped in order to handle pregnant dogs.
Understaffed Station
The veterinarian who was supposed to be at this particular station, however, was not there. They had no idea what to do when a pregnant golden retrievers arrived. The staff was already very understaffed and the dog required lots of attention. They were already severely understaffed, and this dog clearly required a lot of attention.
