96. We made it work
Jack said one morning to himself, “We made it happen,” as he surveyed the farm from Ol’ Reliable’s seat. Jack had been working hard during the harvest. His wife and daughters took care of the peacocks farm.
The sanctuary called Jack to tell him that the peacocks are doing well.

In a sentence which warmed Jack’s heart, Mrs. Winters said “Thank you.”
97. Summer Day
Jack and Bonnie sat on their porch two Augusts later to survey his land. He was pleased with the growth of his corn, and had already asked sign makers to create signs for the maze he planned for his fall festival.
Jack sipped his tea and looked into the distance.

One of his peacocks was a gorgeous, colorfully feathered bird.
