80. Never Again
“Not again,” Bonnie said. Jack listened to the wailing from his bed. The farmer thought that more than one creature was making the screeching and wailing sounds.
Bonnie asked. Jack gulped. He hoped he wasn’t. He hoped not.

Jack was surprised that his daughters did not wake up and run to their parents room in fear of the noises.
81. The Last Thing we Need
Jack replied, “That’s the last thing that we need.”
Bonnie nodded. Jack’s corn was not out of danger yet, even though things worked out on the first try. In addition, the whole situation was a difficult one to deal with. Although rewarding, Jack and Bonnie didn’t want to repeat the experience.

If the cries are any indication, Jack and his wife felt that they had no other choice.
