70. Huelva, Spain: Coloured Water
Possible Drone Used: Parrot Anafi EPV
Cost: $800*
Ignacio Medem, the photographer who took this Siena Award-winning photo, entitled “Coloured Watermix Huelva Spain”, captured a scene that looks like it could be from a fairytale. It depicts the Rio Tinto (Red River). The Rio Tinto flows through southwest Spain and into the Andalucian Sierra Morena Mountains.

Five thousand years of ore mining is responsible for the unique color. Acid mine drainage is a result of the chemicals used in this mining. These chemicals are a disaster for the environment, even though they have produced the beautiful Rio Tinto colours. Medem could have chosen the Parrot Anafi, EPV drone. It comes with reality goggles for nature photographers and a backpack.

Cost: $1,350-$1,450*
Peter Virag, a photographer from France, used a DJI Phantom 4 to take an aerial photo of the Red Sand Garden. The photo was taken at almost 394 feet, which gave the garden a completely new look. The Royal Botanic Garden in Cranbourne, Australia is home to the Red Sand Garden.

The unique contrast between the red sand and the gray plants is shown in “Red Sand Garden”. “Red Sand Garden”, however, challenges this image. When you picture a garden you usually think of bright colors and greens. The plants on the northern hills are Acacia binrvia and Spinifex serriceus which help stabilize the sand hills.
