Panic
Dave ran around the yard barefoot, screaming for Carey, in a panicked state. He couldn’t stop thinking of worst-case scenarios and couldn’t get rid of his fear. He searched every corner of his property, darting around the lawn, and looking in every possible hiding place, but the toddler was nowhere to be found.
Malaya was awakened by the noise and urgency of Dave’s voice. She was gripped by fear as she ran downstairs, barely registering what was happening. She instinctively joined Dave in his search for Carey, echoing the cries of Dave.

“Carey! Carey, what’s your location? They cried out together, their voices trembling from anxiety. The parents searched every room of the house in a vain attempt to find their son. Their desperate search was fruitless.
The urgency of their voices drew neighbors out of their homes to hear the desperate cries. They ran over to offer support and help, asking about the incident and what they could do to help.
