She was terrified by the sighting of the black-bear. She did not believe Luka’s story of what happened the day before, nor the animated stories. The bears were there, as she had been told. It was shocking and more terrifying than any story. She thought they were making a joke.
The children described the event with excitement and enthusiasm. Andrea acted as if it were a charade to keep the kids’ spirits up. Luka confirmed the story and Andrea admitted that it was a charade for their children.
The bear was spotted and there was no doubt.
